Spicy Tuna

Great game last Sunday!  The competition wasn't quite as strong as we experienced the first four weeks, but that being said, we hardly had any turnovers.  Rarely did we have more than one turnover per point, which led to a quick game.  We beat Spicy Tuna 15 - 1.  MVP = Aaron's finger, which took the brunt of one of Wittich's hammers. ORF WIN. Sparkle FAIL. MVP = Alex

Watching from the sidelines I can honestly say I saw spectacular plays made all around. It took a lot of effort to come from behind against a challenging team and it came down to determination, ignoring fatigue, and playing harder than Sparkle. More...

The Toilet Store

We had an unfortunate loss last week to The Toilet Store (12-15;  MVP: Aaron).  They were able to score a number of points via full-field hucks, which is usually something ORF shuts down.  We also had an unusual amount of drops. More...

Week 9 Recap

Our semifinal game against Passive Aggressive didn't go as we had hoped, but it was definitely a close game, and I'm confident we would've pulled it off had we been able to play a regular-length game. We started off rocky in this short game, which ultimately lead to our only loss of the season.

Our game for third place against Huzzah was definitely more fun than our semifinal game (almost too much fun). The weather was the best it has ever been for the final game. We horsed around and had a good time, but nearly lost the game because of it.

Week 8 Recap

We started out the playoffs with a bang! In our quarterfinals game Business Casual was only able to score two points against us, despite missing a quarter of our team due to injury, vacation, and Hallowinona.

Week 7 Recap

Excellent job, folks! Once again we finished out the regular season without a loss.

Everyone played well in Sunday's game against Natty Plaid. We defeated them 15 - 4, and half of their points were scored right at the end of the game.

Week 6 Recap

While this wasn't one of our better games, we were able to get it together and pull it off before running out of time. Being down and then having 15-20 minute points that we didn't always win surely didn't help the nerves.

Week 5 Recap

Quite an exciting game for a change! We almost allowed Huzzah to get the hammer-death-grip on us, only outscoring them by two points.

We got off to a slower start this game. After scoring the first two points we managed to allow DiscContinued to score the next four.

We were able to continue counting our opponent's score on one hand this week by smoking the Pixies 15 - 3. A few of the points were very long...

After two seasons of losing to no one other than Sparkly, we trounced them this week with a 15-2 beat-down.

Week 1 Recap

Way to start off the season, ORF! We handed BORF a loss, scoring three for every one of their points, ending in a 15 - 5 victory. I was expecting a more competitive game, being that they gave us a run for our money last year, but they were missing some of their best players this time around. Don't expect such an easy game if we face them again.

ORF 2006 Pre-Season Update

Hello ORFans, Adro here. Welcome to the pre-season kickoff of ORF's 2006 fall league campaign!

We've been hard at work this offseason, attending mini-camps, weight training sessions and, of course, intense pub crawls. All of it in preparation for the next nine grueling weeks of our lives.

Personell-wise, the team is entering the season healthy. Idelkope (toenail, hangover) and Stenseth (owie, hangover) are recently off the IR, but the trainers assure me that they will be 100%. Rookie Heather Wobig was acquired in a trade with Stanford in exchange for holdout Chun Hua and a fourth round pick in '07. Coach is excited about Wobig, TFB conference athlete of the year, and is expecting a big...performance... from the rookie handler. "She's got nice tits...er, sorry, I meant boobs," said Hushagen, "and I'm pretty sure she knows how to throw a frisbee. Hi Mom!"

In other news, the scheduling Gods have shone down upon us, granting us a very easy first half. With what will amount to free wins against Borf, Sparkley Sunday Pickup, and Huzzah, the team will have a chance to work up some confidence before facing more challenging teams later in the season.

"Borf? I'm gonna rip out their still-beating hearts and mail them in for my ninternship registration," reflected morbid middle Carolyn Parsons. "ORF looks forward to de-coronary-ing you soon!"

Week 9 Recap

Screw you, history, and your infernal repetition! For the second consecutive year, ORF's season fell short of a championship due to rival Sparkly Sunday Pick-up.

ORF's day started with a big victory over Yep, who upset DiscContinued in the previous week to advance to the quarters.

Week 8 Recap

Great playing today! We played two games that were strikingly similar as far as score. Both games went to half 5-2; both games we lulled right after half to 5-4; both games we then turned on the juice and won 13-6.

We had some not-so-good points (infamous "hammer point" anyone?) but we also had some great intensity most of the time and some huge plays by everyone on the team. If we had filmed these games we could put together quite the highlight reel. Speaking of which, who's getting together the camera crew for next year?

And before I go any further, Alex bring the freakin' skirt next week!! We had lots of great skirt D's today.

BORF gave us a tough game this last week, and we edged out the victory 9-8. I don't think we played our best, but they definitely played us hard. And we still scored when it mattered most.

Week 4 Recap

Rough game this week. Sunday Pickup apparently still has our number as they defeated us 15-13. We were winning almost the whole game. But some untimely drops near the upwind endzone hurt a lot. The good news is we know now that we can beat them as long as we don't make too many mistakes. They had a surprisingly effective zone, but with some patience we can get through it.

Week 3 Recap

Great game this week. We beat Kick Ass Bot 5000 15-5, getting back to our usual score. Our defense is once again what dictated the game. Their downfield options were always limited and we played tight on their swings and dumps. We got a lot of D's off of those and it's almost surprising we got only one callahan.

Week 2 Recap

We defeated Yep 15-8 this week. Some of us (myself espcially) were a little fatigued from earlier play, but we still dominated the game. Great plays from a lot of different people helped make an exciting game.

Fall League Approaches

Welcome to the 2005 Fall League season! ORF is psyched to get back on the field and take back our league title from Sunday Pickup!

We have lost two players in the offseason. Smalls is studying abroad this fall but will return for 2006. Rebecca Bertman has disappeared and is presumed deceased.

Fear not, however, as we have 4 additional players suiting up for the 2005 season. Sarah "Muffin" Hughes is back from her one year haitus in San Francisco. Look for Muffin in endzones near you! Free agent Vanessa Albrecht was an early offseason acquisition and will be owning the middle of the field for black and green this year! The final additions to this year's team are the Fiebergs; John and Ann. John is a speedy deep threat and a shut down defender. Ann is a cagey veteran handler with supreme throws. These four players give us the depth necessary to get the job done and bring the trophy home.

In addition to new faces, ORF will be sporting a brand new logo on a black and green jersey this year. Tres chic!

See you on the field!
