While this wasn't one of our better games, we were able to get it together and pull it off before running out of time. Being down and then having 15-20 minute points that we didn't always win surely didn't help the nerves. Besa mi burro scored the first two points, then we caught up a little to make it 3-4, only to allow them to pull away again making it 3-6. After we got our act together we scored the next five points in a row to win the game 8-6. The turning point was when we implemented an upwind defensive zone at
the same time as an upwind offensive handler line. Our zone was very effective; we didn't let them score another point. Our handler line was
also as dominating, being that we started moving the disc properly and scored the rest of the game's points.
Ann was voted MVP. She was our most effective popper and always seemed to get open when no one else could. Born was runner-up and the first one to get the skirt for a nice poach D...although he didn't realize it was the skirt he was handed and threw it down on the sideline where it remained for the rest of the game. There weren't all that many skirt Ds during this game, however John F. did have a nice high-release hand block during a crucial moment.
An ORF milestone: This was ORF's 50th game and we scored our 500th point during the game! I don't know about the rest of you, but I've liked fall a lot more since we formed this team. :)
