Passive Aggressive
8-9
MVP: Curtis

Our semifinal game against Passive Aggressive didn't go as we had hoped, but it was definitely a close game, and I'm confident we would've pulled it off had we been able to play a regular-length game. We started off rocky in this short game, which ultimately lead to our only loss of the season.

Their poaching proved effective in the beginning; we seemed to have trouble adjusting to it. We made poor throwing decisions, hung on to the disc too long, and also dropped catches. They got ahead of us 0-3, then 1-4. After we recognized their poaching strategy we adjusted by swinging the disc more quickly and more often. We caught up and tied the game at 5-5. Then they pulled away yet again to make it 5-9. Most of their scoring seemed to consist of exploiting height match ups with Dan Van Bergen and having Ross run deep. In the end we started to catch up again, but ran out of time, which resulted in a final score of 8-9 (although the website lists the score as 9-10). Their club players appeared to be the only people touching the disc. However, there's no rule against this strategy and it's their prerogative to implement it. We lost fair and square and congratulate Passive Aggressive on their hard-fought win.

Alex had a skirt D, but also forgot the skirt at home, so no one actually wore the skirt that day. There were some other skirt Ds that occurred, but
my memory fails me as to who made them. Nik threw his first hammer during a game, which was as successful as my dusty layout on dried mud for a throw on which Adro was fouled. Curtis was voted MVP, and there was a 3-way tie for runner-up between Vanessa, Alex, and Carolyn.
